Meet the Team
Running a successful group with over 300 members isn’t a small task. From the day to day running and program planning, ensuring over 250 young people get a fun, active and nourishing program, through to fire safety inspections and legal compliance of the charity there is always lots to do.
Below is the breakdown of the 3 main groups (cogs) of the Team6th machine.

Lead Volunteers
Lead Volunteers support all adults in the group who work directly with young people. We providing direction and support, manage and administer the safe provision of the exciting program and ensure that the group is providing the best program possible within the limitations of the group.
Lisa Young
Lead Volunteer
Lisa has been involved in Scouting for most of her life and brings a wealth of experience to the team (we’ll quietly skip over her time in Guides!). Passionate about giving young people the best experiences, she plays a key role in supporting the group’s day-to-day running and leads our Cub section with energy, creativity, and care.
Nigel Fleetwood
Lead Volunteer
Nigel has been part of Scouting for many years and has seen it from just about every angle — as a young person, leader, and now Group Lead Volunteer. Passionate about creating opportunities for young people, he works tirelessly to support volunteers, grow the group, and make sure every member of #Team6th enjoys great adventures and lifelong memories.

Trustee Board
Our Trustee Board works behind the scenes to keep 6th Gosport Scout Group running safely, smoothly, and sustainably. They look after everything from our finances and building maintenance to legal responsibilities and long-term planning. Working closely with our volunteer team, the trustees make sure we have the resources, support, and direction we need to give every young person the best possible Scouting experience.
